MENOMONIE, Wis. (WJMC) — A Dunn County organization has been battling food insecurity for over forty years.
Since it was founded in 1984, Stepping Stones of Dunn County has made it their mission to ensure residents in northwest Wisconsin have access to fresh, local food.
During 2024, Stepping Stones distributed 816,000 pounds of food through their food pantry, serving over 5,000 people in and around the Menomonie community. In addition to partnering with local farmers to secure food through the Farmers Feed Dunn County program, Stepping Stones has also created three shelters for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
