RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Individuals eligible for Medicare can review their current prescription drug and hospital, doctor, or Advantage plans, and make any necessary changes.
Independent agent Joe Erickson explains what’s new.
“The government came out with a final rule 2025. A couple benefits of that is it is removing the coverage gap stage. It used to be called the donut hole,” Erickson said. “It’s just another stage throughout the year that you’d have to pay an extra percentage of your drugs. It also reduces the catastrophic stage. That drops from eight thousand to two thousand.”
Erickson encourages people to check with an insurance agent, contact the Aging and Disability Resource Center, or go online, medicare.gov.
The enrollment deadline is Dec. 7.
