RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — A Rice Lake woman has plead no contest to two citations from a fatal crash last August.
Last week, 56-year-old Patricia L. Kronquist was cited for passing in a no passing zone and operating left of center, causing death, and was fined $2,795.
On August 14, Kronquist was driving north in a construction zone with bidirectional lanes on Highway 53, when she passed other traffic in a no-passing zone. Her Dodge Caravan collided with a southbound Mercury Marquis that was towing a motorcycle trailer. That driver, 71-year-old Ira Luplow, of Michigan, was killed.
Barron County District Attorney Brian Wright said the case was still under investigation, and a decision was pending for criminal charges.
