WASHINGTON, D.C. (WRN) — Wisconsin Democrat Tammy Baldwin took to the floor of the US Senate Thursday to oppose the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
“I’m speaking as someone who knows first hand how important it is to protect our children from serious illness, and that is why I was so disturbed by Robert F Kennedy Jr’s nomination to lead our nations largest public health agency,” Baldwin said.
Wisconsin’s Republican Senator Ron Johnson voted in favor of the nominee, and Kennedy was confirmed in a 52-48 vote. Former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was the only Republican to vote no.
