Red Cedar Symphony presents “The Feelings of Life through Music”
March 1 @ 4:00 PM

The Red Cedar Symphony is excited to feature the winners of its biennial concerto competition at the spring concerts, which will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at Chetek Lutheran Church in Chetek, and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.
Local high school student, Peter Wise, will perform the fourth movement of Ney Rosauro’s Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra, Despidida (Farewell). Peter Wise is a senior at Chetek/Weyerhaeuser High School and a member of the Red Cedar Symphony percussion section.
Ashley Springer, a junior at UW-Stevens Point, will perform the first movement of Edouard Lalo’s Symphonic Espagnole, Op. 21, on violin with the orchestra. Springer studies Music Performance and Arts Management at UW-Stevens Point.
With these two competition winners and other selections from the orchestra, Adam Bever will explore the theme of “The Feelings of Life through Music.” Come and be inspired by an afternoon of great classical music featuring two fantastic young musicians.
